For finance review
CompensationShift at a glance
A one-page overview for finance leaders reviewing the program before any commitment.
What it is
A benefits program that works alongside your current group health plan. Your plan stays as it is. The program is designed to give employees easier access to primary and urgent care, and it is structured under the federal tax code.
Who qualifies
Generally, employers with 10 or more full-time W-2 employees working 30 or more hours a week that already offer a group health plan. Smaller employers are reviewed case by case. Eligibility is confirmed before any program start. Restaurants are excluded due to part-time workforce patterns.
How payroll changes
The program is designed to reduce employer payroll tax on eligible compensation. Savings depend on headcount, pay levels, participation, and plan design. The average figure shown on the site is illustrative and not guaranteed.
What it costs the company
Program fees, administration, and implementation are reviewed during the discovery call and set out in the proposal. Nothing is committed before that review.
Questions to bring to the discovery call
- What is our eligible headcount and average pay, and what would the estimate be for our figures?
- How does the program interact with our current health plan and our current payroll process?
- What is our implementation timeline, and what does HR need to do?
- Which costs are fixed, which depend on participation, and how are they reported?
- Which of our advisors (tax, legal, benefits consultant) should review the proposal before we decide?
